What is Radon and how can I check my home for it?

Radon is a gaseous radioactive decay product of uranium or thorium sometimes found at hazardous levels in homes. As with many radioactive products, long-term exposure may cause injury. The Town does not inspect homes for Radon. You can find Radon inspection kits in hardware stores and certified II inspectors on-line.
