What approval is needed to conduct charitable or commercial solications?
Answer
The procedure is the same for commercial and non-profit solicitation licenses. To obtain a solicitation permit, you must apply in person at the Office of the Clerk-Treasurer. You must supply a government issued picture ID and submit to a background check. There is a $25 investigation fee and a nominal permit fee based on length of solicitation. An exception is made for some federally protected groups, such as religious organizations and political groups.
