Munster Junior Woman's Club Raises Funds for Autism Awareness Project

Jennifer Fane, President of the Munster Junior Woman's Club, presents a generous $3,750 donation from their organization to cover the cost of the Ben's Blue Bags for each of the Munster Police Department's patrol vehicles as well as autism awareness training for each officer.

In March, the Munster Police Department received excellent training on Autism Awareness from Matt Kodicek from the Crown Point Fire Department and Ben's Blue Bags, which each of the Munster Police Department's officers have received to carry in their patrol vehicles.  These bags contain items which can help individuals with autism during overstimulation or other emergency situations.

Fundraiser

The funds were raised after a great event that was held at 313 Taproom in late February which included food, live music from Eli Hernandez, and raffles.

We great appreciate the Munster Junior Woman's Club, Matt Kodicek, and Logan's Love-Logan Speaks (whose organization was also present for the training) for their great support of this project and for their important work in raising awareness about assisting and supporting our fellow residents with autism.
