The Munster Police Department would like to thank St. Thomas More School for holding their own "Caps for K-9's" Fundraiser on Friday, March 24th which raised a very generous $1,400 towards the police department's K-9 Unit. The students and staff members were invited to donate $1 or more that day in exchange for wearing a hat during the school day and many of them participated with their donations.
St. Thomas More joined with Eads, Elliott, Frank Hammond, and St. Paul's Lutheran School who also held their own fundraisers for the K-9 Unit earlier this month on March 3rd. The funds that were raised from the schools will help to provide training, medical care, and food for K-9's Skye, Vader, and Lucy (handled by Officer Brad Riemerts, Officer Alex Reillo, and Officer Brett Scheffel, respectively).
We appreciate our schools, residents, faith-based organizations, and businesses for their continued, generous support of our policing efforts and programs in Munster. For more information about how you can support the K-9 program, please contact Officer Alex Reillo at 219-836-6650 or areillo@munster.org.
