Monon Trail Closure:

NICTD will be closing the Monon Trail between Ridge Road in Munster and 173^rd Street in Hammond for two years beginning Monday, June 6, 2022. Trail traffic will be detoured west along Ridge Road to Hohman Avenue north to 173^rd Street and then east to the Monon Trail. This closure is for the trail only. Manor Avenue will be open to traffic. Construction work necessitating the closure includes railroad bridge construction over the Little Calumet River, construction of a new pedestrian bridge over the river, track work, and a new pedestrian tunnel.
