RFP - Munster Police Department Tow Service Provider

The Town of Munster and the Munster Police Department have adopted a Tow Service Provider Policy and Ordinance (#1896). In order to be considered to be part of the 2026-2028 Tow Rotation for the Munster Police Department you will need to complete the following items:

 

  • Munster PD Tow Service Provider Application
  • Munster PD Tow Service Provider Tow List Terms of Agreement
  • On-Site Inspections of Vehicles, Office and Storage
  • Insurance Information on File at Munster PD and Building Department
  • Town of Munster Contractor’s Registration Application
  • Background checks on owner and all drivers

 

Hard copies of the application packets can be picked up at the Munster Police Department, Records Division, located at 1001 Ridge Road.  Hours are Mondays through Friday from 8 am to 4 pm. We are asking you please complete the Tow Service Provider Application and Terms of Agreement and return those to us so that we can get the on-site inspections completed in a timely manner.   The deadline to complete and return the Application and Agreement is Friday December 5, 2025.

               

Once all forms are received, a list of eligible tow service providers will be completed.  The Board of Safety will determine the tow list with a maximum of the top five (5) providers by taking into consideration past history with the department, years of service, any negative interactions or suspensions, and business reputation.
