Fisher Electric Upgrade Construction Plan
Beginning Monday, July 28, NIPSCO and its contracted partner Robert Henry Corporation, will start work on the Fisher Electric Project to upgrade and replace 155 wooden utility poles and electrical wiring in Munster. The work will commence near the intersection of Timrick Drive and Fisher Street, extending northward towards Hohman Avenue and the expressway, with an expected completion date in December. Motorists are advised to drive carefully and remain alert in construction zones, adhering to all posted signage. This project aims to enhance the long-term reliability and safety of the electrical system by implementing a more modernized infrastructure.
Over the next 4 to 5 weeks portions of the Pennsy Greenway Trail will be closed periodically as crews work in the area. Flaggers will be onsite during those times.
NIPSCO is committed to restoring the area affected by this project upon its completion and will maintain close collaboration with local Munster officials to mitigate any impacts on the community.
