The Munster Police Department is accepting applications for Police Officer Candidates for the purpose of establishing an eligibility list for current vacancies.  Candidates must be 21-39 years of age at time of appointment and must be a high school graduate or possess a GED equivalent.

OPPORTUNITIES: Detective Bureau, School Resource Officer/DARE Officers, K-9 Program, Northwest Regional SWAT, Crime Suppression Unit, Drone Program, Federal/Local Task Force, Evidence Technicians, Honor Guard, Off-Duty Employment at $45/hour.

BENEFITS: 1) Probationary Pay $67,350.40/Year; 2) 1st Class Patrolman Pay $84,240.00/Year; 3) 1,700 Annual Uniform Allowance; 4) Longevity pay of $250/year of service, maxed at $6,250 at 25 years; 5) 11 Paid Holidays; 6) Vacation starting at 80 hours per year, maxing out at 160 hours per year; 7) 12 Hour Shifts/Every Other Weekend Off; 8) Take Home Cars
