On October 25, Munster will be hosting a community-based charrette for the station area design process for the Westlake Extension of NICTD commuter rail service. The meeting will be facilitated by Farr and Associates, a national planning and architecture firm based in Chicago. This is the community's opportunity to have the first say in future transportation improvements in Munster. Resident opinion is a significant factor in what the outcome of the station area design will be, and we hope this event will allow residents to learn more about the project and share their opinions with NICTD leadership.

GENERAL FORMAT OF MEETING

• As participants enter, they sign-in at a table and receive a polling remote, colored dots for the boards, index cards and a pencil to write down questions they have during the presentation, and a business card with the project website and information on it.
• After signing in, participants will have the opportunity to place colored dots on boards and maps Farr has created to demonstrate their priorities for the station areas or to identify where they currently live/work/play in the surrounding area.
• Participants are seated at round tables that will later be used for small group discussion.
• Project principle will run through a presentation that frames what exactly Farr’s scope is/the purpose of the public meeting, addressing common questions/misconceptions upfront, and guiding residents through image preference polling. During the presentation, we will collect index cards from participants to be read and answered at the end of the presentation.
• After the presentation, we will transition into small groups to discuss. 
• 10 minute report-out from small groups.
• Wrap-up, thank you, and next steps.
