Participating teams from the 2014 Police & Fire Charity Softball Event, which was won by the Dyer Police Department. Last year's event raised $3,000 for the Cancer Resource Centre and was attended by over 500 people from the three participating communities.

The Munster Police Department and Choice Community Council will be hosting the 3rd Annual Police & Fire Charity Softball Event on Sunday, June 14, 2015 at 1:30PM at Community Park in Munster, Indiana. TICKETS ARE ONLY $5.00 EACH, and last year's event raised $3,000 for the Cancer Resource Centre in Munster, which provides resources and support to cancer patients and their families.
This year's event will now include four communities (Munster, Highland, Dyer, and Griffith), each of which will participate through combined police and fire teams. The event will begin with the singing of the National Anthem, first pitch ceremonies, and the announcing of the participating players and teams. Two sets of games played on adjacent fields will then be played, and a traveling trophy will be presented to the winner during a closing ceremony.
This year's event will include the following teams, which will be compromised of both police officers and firefighters from each town:

Highland Police & Fire Departments
Dyer Police & Fire Departments
Griffith Police & Fire Departments
We will also be holding an ON-SITE BLOO DRIVE that will be run through the American Red Cross from 12:30PM to 4:30PM that day. The blood drive is being held as part of this year's series of "Indiana Fallen Officer" memorial blood drives. Walk-up blood donations will be welcome, however, you can also pre-register your blood donation time in advance (beginning May 15th) by going to redcrossblood.org and entering the sponsor code "pdfd." You can also call the American Red Cross at 1-800-RED-CROSS to schedule your blood donation as well.
