The Munster Police Department has instituted a Communitry Policing District Officer program. The overall object of the program is to give all officers a sense of duty and responsibility for achieving department goals and objectives within their assigned district. Officers will be given the authority to resolve community problems and are responsible for addressing the community's problems and concerns in a timely manner. Officers will be expected to spend at least some portion of their daily patrol activity in their assigned policing district checking and monitoring activities within their district. They should also meet with residents and business owners, attend neighborhood crime watch meetings & community events and resolve problems brought to the attention of the department. The town is divided into officer districts with an officer from each shift being assigned to a district. You can find the officers assigned to your district on the map below and then clicking on that district number.
