The Town of Munster Water Utility has radio-read water meters which transmit readings to a handheld device.  The meter is read this way monthly.  You can also manually read your meter.  To do this, read the first four (4) digits from left to right.  While there are six (6) rotating digits on the meter, only the first four are used for the meter reading.  (If your meter is 1.5" or larger, read the first five (5) digits.)

You are responsible for all water that goes through the meter.  If the red triangle (located between the numbers 7 and 8 on the dial) is moving at all, there is water going through the meter.  If all water sources have been turned off, and the red triangle is moving, there is a leak somewhere.  You can call Water Maintenance at 836-6971 to have your home checked for leaks.  Remember that all water that goes through the meter will be billed to you.
