COMMUNITY EMERGENCY RESPONSE TEAM (C.E.R.T.)

Call 836-6960 for Information on Joining the Program

The Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) program was developed in 1985 as a way of training people to prepare to respond to a disaster.  It is a group of people who are trained to deal with many aspects of a disaster.  These individuals will learn about techniques that people can use in their own families and the greater community.

Training will include disaster preparedness, disaster fire suppression, medical operations, light search and rescue, disaster psychology, and disaster simulation.  Essentially this 6 session course will allow individuals to help with specialized situations and provide community support in times when it is needed most.  The intent is to train those volunteers so that they are valuable assets when they show up and will have the tools ready for dealing with emergency situations in a safe manner.
