MUNSTER POLICE PENSION BOARD
Purpose of the Board
The Munster Police Pension Board was established pursuant to Indiana Code 36-8-6-2 for the purpose of governing and managing the police pension and disability fund and to execute all other duties prescribed by law.
Board Members
The board consists of nine members; the president of the town council, the town's clerk-treasurer, the police chief, one retired member of the fund and five active emembers of the fund. The active members and the one retired member are elected positions which are voted upon by the police officers. The board has four primary positions; the town council president serves as the board president, the clerk-treasurer acts as the board treasurer while the president pro-tempore and board secretary are voted upon by the members.
